Valley Forge Towers NDT Testing on Concrete Planks

ACER performed nondestructive testing (NDT) at Valley Forge Towers to assess structural integrity and material conditions without damaging building components. Our certified NDT technicians used ultrasonic testing, radiography, infrared thermography, and acoustic emission methods to detect corrosion, voids, delamination, and weld defects. We deliver detailed inspection reports, digital imaging, and repair recommendations to support facility maintenance, safety compliance, and informed rehabilitation decisions for Valley Forge Towers.

As part of a structural loading analysis, ACER performed non-destructive testing of the concrete plank floor system associated with this high-rise building.  Using a combination of our GSSI Structure Scan Mini HR and James Non-Destructive Testing Systems R-Meter (MKIII), ACER was able to determine the plank thickness, the number and diameter of voids within each plank section, and the number, depth, and approximate diameter of the strands within the planks.  The testing revealed the planks were 8-inch precast, pre-stressed hollow care concrete planks.
