Totowa Monopole Tower Foundation Mapping

ACER performed tower foundation mapping for telecommunications sites to verify foundation extents, depths, and subsurface conditions critical to safe installation, upgrade, and decommissioning of cell towers. Using ground‑penetrating radar (GPR), electromagnetic induction, targeted coring, and surveyed documentation, we locate rebar, conduits, voids, and subsurface anomalies and deliver georeferenced CAD/GIS maps, condition assessments, and construction‑ready reports that support structural evaluations, permitting, and risk‑mitigation for tower owners and contractors.

ACER conducted Non-Destructive Testing on the foundation of the monopole to determine the size and dimensions of the foundation.  ACER utilized a combination of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Sonic Echo/Impulse Response (SE/IR) to identify the dimensions of the foundation as well as to determine if a mat and pier foundation was present.  ACER utilized GPR and a minimally invasive tile probe to determine a mat was present and to determine the dimensions of the mat.  ACER’s foundation mapping assessment was completed in conjunction with a Geotechnical Investigation.  Performing these tasks jointly allowed ACER to provide the client with the foundation dimensions and subsurface conditions in order to determine and design any appropriate structural upgrades, while remaining under budget.
