Family Dollar, Camden, NJ

ACER provided soil permeability testing for proposed stormwater retention basins associated with the redevelopment of a vacant lot in the City of Camden.  In accordance with N.J.A.C. 7:9A, utilizing the procedures outlined in the NJ Stormwater Best Management Practices (BMP) Manual Appendix E, ACER excavated soil profile pits for determining soil suitability for the retention basins.  Soil profile pit logs were developed, which identified soil types, depth to seasonal high water table, and groundwater depth, in order to select the appropriate depths for soil permeability testing.  Four (4) in-situ percolation tests were performed to calculate the rate of stormwater infiltration in inches per hour.  This information was provided to the Project Engineer for design of a stormwater basin, which would meet the New Jersey Stormwater BMP requirements.
