In New Jersey, remediation is overseen by a Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP). Pursuant to the 2009 Site Remediation Reform Act (N.J.S.A. 58:10C-1 et seq.), properties with confirmed contamination exceeding the state quality standard for soil, groundwater, or air are subject to Site Remediation Reform Act (SRRA). Under this rule, property owners are obligated to complete a remedial investigation or “cleanup”.
